Here, at The Inspired Classroom, we do not let a December 16th go by without a mention of a very important December holiday – Beethoven’s birthday.
I used to celebrate this special day each year with my grandfather, a man who loved Beethoven’s music as well as appreciated the man himself. Now, I open up this idea to all, celebrating the event with my students and sharing a moment with you, my readers.
For an interesting read about one of Beethoven’s premiere concerts (where he premiered his 5th and 6th symphony as well as his Piano Concerto No. 4, the Choral Fantasy and parts of the Mass in C – the concert lasted four hours!), please visit this great post, Roll On (not Over) Beethoven! If you are a fan of the man, you will enjoy reading about this potentially magnificent concert.
I wish you a wonderful Holiday Season – and that includes today!
Happy Birthday, Beethoven!
